\nThe Scent of Your Memory<\/em>, concepita appositamente per la mostra\u00a0YOU ARE HERE. Central Asia<\/em>, riflette sull’idea della partenza di una persona cara, sulla nostalgia e sul desiderio, ma anche su come questa separazione lasci spazio per nuovi incontri e nuovi inizi. L’opera\u00a0rievoca la migrazione forzata della\u00a0madre dell’artista, nel contesto delle difficolt\u00e0 economiche del Kirghizistan indipendente nei primi anni Novanta, attraverso il profumo dei suoi capelli lasciato su un foulard.
\nIl risultato della performance \u00e8 una nuova installazione tessile site-specific visibile da gioved\u00ec 10 aprile, che andr\u00e0 ad aggiungersi alle opere in mostra offrendo una chiusura piena di speranza per fare eco alle storie collettive dell’Asia Centrale che il progetto espositivo ha presentato.<\/p>\n
\nThe Scent of Your Memory, created specifically for the exhibition\u00a0<\/em>YOU ARE HERE. Central Asia,\u00a0reflects on the idea of the departure of a loved one, nostalgia, and desire, but also on how such separation creates space for new encounters and new beginnings. The work evokes the forced migration of the\u00a0artist’s mother in the context of the economic hardships in independent Kyrgyzstan in the early 1990s, through the scent of her hair left on a scarf.
\nThe result of the performance will be a new site-specific textile installation, visible from Thursday, April 10th, which will be added to the exhibition, offering a hopeful closure that echoes the collective stories of Central Asia presented in the exhibition project.<\/em><\/p>\n
